Information Graphics

Information graphics (infographics/edugraphics), are visual representations of data, knowledge and concepts which are graphically developed to present and communicate information quickly and effectively.

As an art director, graphic designer and illustrator I have developed numerous infographics both as part of larger projects as well as standalones, ranging from simple to complex.

Following are several samples from an educational book I designed for children between the ages of nine and thirteen.

Above:  An infographic illustrating shark senses—bottom of page 11.

Above: An infographic depicting past and future sea life populations of our oceans.  Art directed cartoonist in the concept and for integrating it across a two-page book spread.

Above: An infographic giving proportion to the prehistoric shark known as Carcharodon Megalodon.  Art directed our scientific illustrator through this concept.

Above: An infographic illustrating the state of world poverty.  Art directed a freelance designer in the development of this graphic.

Above: Two infographics.  Art directed our scientific illustrator in the creation of the shark food pyramid graphic and adapted the the world population graphic from another graphic.

Above: Working closely with our scientific illustrator I developed this spread layout to revolve around three distinct infographics which compare shark tails and fins to those of other sea life.

Above: Developed this graphic which identifies the various fins on a shark and their functions.

Above: Coordinating closely with our scientific illustrator I developed this graphic which illustrates how sharks breathe.

Above: Art directed our cartoonist in the development of the graphic at the bottom of Page 15 to help communicate the concept that three sharks are killed across the worlds oceans every second.

Above: Developed these two charts on the spread below to help illustrate that sharks are speedy predators.
